34 Fun Book Chats You Should Tune Into on Twitter

Book chats are alive and well on Twitter! They're sometimes hosted by authors who want to promote their books, but most often by books lovers at regularly scheduled times throughout the week. We've found book clubs, genre chats, even discussions for writers and publishers, all of which are easy to access and fun to join on Twitter. Check out this list to find some of the best book chats you should be checking out.

Literature Lovers

Book clubs, genre chats, even libraries get together in these fun chats.

  1. #torchat: Science fiction and fantasy book lovers should check out this chat from Tor, frequently featuring genre authors in their monthly hourlong gathering every third Wedensday of the month at 4 p.m. ET.
  2. #libchat: Anyone who loves libraries and books can tune in to this chat each Wednesday at 8 p.m. to chat with librarians, booksellers, critics, and more.
  3. #fridayflash: All day every Friday, writers write and post flash fiction, and readers are welcome to comment and retweet.
  4. #litchat: Readers and authors can get connected twice a week, Mondays at 4 p.m. ET for open topic chats, and Fridays at 4 with author or publishing guest hosts.
  5. #followreader: Hosted each Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET, members of the bookish community, including authors, librarians, publishers, and readers can chat on #followreader.

  8. #ufchat: Saturdays at 6 p.m. ET, urban fantasy fiction is explored, celebrated, and even mocked a little bit on #ufchat.
